Introduction to Scientific Programming in MATLAB and Octave

MATLAB is a widely used scientific programming language, and Octave, combined with GNUplot graphics, is a free and open source (FOSS) version. Our MATLAB/Octave course is available for delivery by on-site face-to-face presentation or site-license web-based virtual learning environment (VLE). It is specifically designed to show how to program in either language, and to highlight the (very few) differences between them. Thus it is possible to create programs which will run in either. The course material can be practiced on a system having only Octave/GNUplot, which can save on software site-license fees.
